Oow almost died today. Er ok more like death passed me on the train next to mine and stared at me while I flipped him off. My nervous system went hay wire hands and feet tingling, dizziness hot cold sweats, rhythmic stuttering of the same word in 15-20 second chunks, inability to think and oh yes jaundiced nails. Current guess is severe b12 deficiency. Will double check at docs.

Do me a favor look at your nails, do they have a white crescent at the bases? Right now only my thumbs still have them in a visible way. According to the research I did (while high on anti anxiety meds) tiny or gone crescents is a sign of b12 deficiency.

Lots of things can cause tingling in hands and feet - there's something specific on my mind trying to get itself remembered - and dizziness & hot and cold sweats too. But rhythmic stuttering of a word is a new one on me.

Hope you get a diagnosis and some quality drugs.

B12 is at least easy to get in pill or injection form.
The body has a storage of it so it can take awhile before it gets serious.

My car has reached the stage where it's time to replace it. It has an intermittent fault where it loses all power for a few seconds - it can be dangerous when it happens at the wrong moment.

It's probably only a loose wire or a faulty sensor, but it's a complicated turbo-diesel with numerous sensors so it's too complicated for me to fix, and the garages I've tried have been unable to diagnose the fault properly: they charge for the tests and then give me a quote many times what the car is now worth with no guarantee that the car will be fixed for that. The problem is that although the car still looks good and drives fine 99.9% of the time, it's over eleven years old and has done over 179,000 miles so its only value is as scrap.

I've been and bought a nearly new Skoda as a replacement - I pick it up on Monday. I've chosen a petrol (gasoline) one this time as Skoda cars share major parts such as the engines with Volkswagen, and VW diesel car engines are probably best avoided right now.

Update: feeling much better but still have tingles in my finger tips but no jaundice. Found a 1mg per pill dose of B12 that I just started taking. Still going to visit the docs.
B12 is important for nerve sheath formation and DNA replication so lacking it is bad.

After a bit of research, B12 health information.
A fully healthy human contains a store of 4-5000 mcg of B12, and your number 1 source of b12 is re-absorption. (coming in second by a factor or two is meat, and 3rd milk, there are no bioavailable plant sources.)
Supplements that contain 100% RDA only contain 1/2000th of your storage and thus even pills which seem to contain massive 1000% Daily value only give you 1/200th of your storage. So base vitamins wont properly restore low supply. You often pee out part of that intake, which means just because you pee neon doesn't mean your body has enough B12. (and for the easily amused among you, B12 pee glows in blacklight).

This large supply and re-absorption means you can be low on b12 without any symptoms while your supply is slowly dwindling.

Edit to add: Vegetarians and Vegans are most at risk. I'm a vegetarian but I purposely added a multivitamin to my diet and eat lots of eggs and dairy so I had just assumed that the 200% RDV was obviously enough to offset things, but never realized the crazy low dose that really was.

...when I can think again this makes me want to research the RDV for Iron which is the other normally worried about vitamin.

He had some xrays and he's going to go into surgery at some point. He's otherwise uninjured as far as we can tell. He's riding the morphene train and I'm just chilling with him in the ER.

He's done with surgery and everything went according to plan. He's in a room and in and out of sleeping. That's it for tonight. I'm going to hang out with him a little while longer then go home and get some sleep.

Tomorrow hopefully we find out about shit like physical therapy and how long he's going to be here.
