I got The Dictators Live: New York New York, Swans - Feel Good Now, This Mortal Coil - Blood, and a copy of Dead Can Dance in Europe (2005). It didn't state which city it was recorded at.
Currently listening to my boss yell at one of my coworkers. Not very musical, I'm afraid.

I've never heard The Dictators, but the writeups seem intriguing.
As soon as I can force myself to do it, I'm going to make an order from Projekt and get that Black Tape album* you mentioned, as well as some other stuff.
*just have to go back and find the name again...
Currently listening to The Sensualists, Knee Deep Sub Zero on 'net radio.

The Dictators album is quite good, it's an interesting snapshot of the beginning of punk in NYC. A shame punk's turned into something that glorifies stupidity these days. Sort of like the evolution of hip hop, just minus the bling refrences.

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
I haven't listened to any new punk since the Eighties. The early stuff always appealed to me for the attitude but I've never gotten that deep into it. I used to have some Dead Milkmen on tape and a pirated tape of Headache by Big Black (if that counts as punk.) Other than that, it was a smattering of Sex Pistols and The Clash tapes a friend had in college.

That's probably going to happen anytime a genre becomes mainstream enough to be a money maker for the labels. Besides, real punk attitude would pretty much be anathema for the music industry. It's about selling a product and nothing else. There isn't much common ground in that with a DIY outlook on life or actually questioning things.
Currently listening to tracks from the album Primrose by Mors Syphlitica.

Going through the Blues Traveler portion of my MP3 player. Currently on Bullshitter's Lament, off their Save His Soul album. Quite the apropos song for today.
