Plugging a good friend's band. I won't divulge which one he is. (eta - So, not the she-pianist ...)
ETA: Genre - Jazz and whatever the fuck. Heady, tonal - I guess?

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
These boys weren't all that popular even among proggers, but still . . . John Wetton, Bill Bruford, Allan Holdsworth and Eddie Jobson in the same band at the same time.

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
The live album released at the time was underwhelming, but the 2 studio albums were excellent, particularly the first. RIP Wetton & Holdsworth.

Speaking of Wetton, here's something from last year's That Awful Man and his Manager speaking tour:

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
I stumbled across:
And knew I'd heard this somewhere and was convinced it was Jean-Michel Jarre, so I scanned my library of Jarre and no it wasn't, it was this more recent (90s?) Russian act:
But I'm rediscovering my love of Jarre:

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
Something K wrote in a whole different subforum reminded me of this one. The productions on Peter Gabriel's first album (producer Bob Ezrin) were enormous, too big in some instances for Gabriel's liking. He always did highly stripped-down versions of Here Comes the Flood in concerts, a tune that was bigly produced on the album.

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
I’m getting a not available message on that one, here and on YouTube. It’s not giving the “Fuck off, foreign trash” message so I dunno.
iOS device, will try again at home hours and hours later.

We found out too late to do anything about it that Sparks did a concert not far from here last night. Ah well, maybe next time.

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
I just read that Steven Wilson - who's turned out to be something of a savant when it comes to sound engineering - remixed Pink Floyd keyboardist/singer Rick Wright's 1978 solo album Wet Dream, and it's set for release late this month. I don't have anything approaching the kind of sound system needed for full appreciation of the new mixes (Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround), but the announcement did remind me what a great album that is. All Pink Floyd members did solo albums around that time, and Wright's was my favorite (though David Gilmour's was pretty goddamn great as well).
The musicians on Wright's album included drummer Reg Isadore of Robin Trower's band, guitarist Snowy White, who in addition to a stint with Thin Lizzy was a touring guitarist for Pink Floyd on a couple of massive world tours, and sax man Mel Collins of King Crimson and about a thousand successful studio gigs fame.
