I found that same page! I liked the Three Musketeers race too.

Re: What's up with you?
Back in Austin after a little over three weeks in Michigan. I'm glad I had the extra time to visit with family, despite the cause. I think I'll make more of an effort to stay in touch with them instead of just catching up once a year. Most are good peeps.

Are you changing your user I.D. to 'roastofu'?
I hope things work out OK, so you can go back to playing in the snow.

I have a nasty cold, probably brought on by running around without a hat in the cold. Or at least that's what my mom would say.

I've mainly managed to avoid running around in frigid temps this season, but I am still mired in a cold most foul. My eyes are tearing so constantly that it's actually hard to read.

Re: What's up with you?
I, too, have been suffering with some virus. My eyes look like a pair of radishes. Every few hours, I wash the dried-on crust from my eyelashes and little bits of snot from under my eyelids - then I drip some saline into my eyes which makes them feel a little better for a few minutes.
I've not had a proper night's sleep in a week - and whenever I fall asleep I get those fevered nonsensical obsessive nightmares. I think I'm mostly past the fever stage though now - so I have a week or so of hacking cough, snotty nosed cloth-headedness to look forward to.

how about fo-elk? Ive got some major dietary/ life style changes ahead of me this year. Its basically loose weight or face dire consequence time, the gallbladder is just mother nature giving me a kick in the ass.
the blood tests and scans are showing a few other interesting things, namely the docs suspect a fatty liver, and I have some insulin resistance. nothing bad at the moment, but left untreated it will become serious.

Yup sounds like carbs are also not your friends.
I've seen vegans with gall bladder problems and fatty liver. However vegetables would probably like to get to know you better.

The good news is that, with the advent of laparascopic surgery, gall bladder surgery (in most cases) is way less invasive and recovery times are much shorter than was the case in the not so distant past. It used to mean a couple of weeks in the hospital with the incision being packed and left open as it healed from the inside out. Anymore it is usually in one day and out the next, if not the same day.

apparently neither is alcohol, it seems the medical folks think 6 beer a day is considered heavy drinking, I called it pre bed time r and r. oh well, the caloric reduction of not drinking will help with dropping some weight.
i figure im only 30lb on + sight right now, most people wouldn't even bat eye at a me, im too normal looking. docs say to loose 50, which i doubt is possible, that would put at 155lbs, which I haven't been since I was a physically fit 14 year old

Depends how tall you are, I don't remember 'physically fit 14 years old'. I graduated HS at 135 and now I'm about 155. No-one ever tells me to loose weight, should I feel that I'm being ignored?

Re: What's up with you?
at some point in the last year or so, i had purchased a 10-class pass at the local yoga (etc) studio, Humble Be... i did manage to use all 10 classes in the year, doing the "very gentle yoga" class, in which i was the youngest whipper-snapper...
then... well.... then i lost track of me so i was unable to continue ...
but i just now decided that i am taking advantage of the $90/10 lessons on sale for $75 (exp may 31) and hoping i can meet the challenge of showing up 10 times ... i paid online and got the confo email
i really did benefit from the instruction but the startle response was SO difficult to manage that i started private lessons with the currently listed instructor (actually the week before the Herxheimer reaction interlude took over my life)... i think the fact that she is up to speed on my brand of crazy encourages me to try this out again...
guess we will find out....

put it this way, I was a very active youngster. I also reached my final adult height at 14 (173cm), I mainly just gained shoulder/chest girth after.
when I wrestled with/for the university of alberta i stayed in the 76 kg class (167lbs). This was about 10lb under my normal go about weight, which was normal for the sport. This why i consider 175bs to be my ideal weight.
also, my doctor has been telling me to loose weight for years now.

Re: What's up with you?
Well a six pack a night is about 6 sandwiches a night in calories, so that'd be a good thing to cut down on.

Re: What's up with you?
I can't fucking sleep. I have bunches of nervous energy and I have been weirdly alert but also restless for days. I didn't get to bed till 2 last night and figured I would skip my run, but come 6 am I was wide awake so I went for it. And I'm still not tired.
I don't know what the fuck it is. I'm eating well and making progress in my work. There's nothing actually wrong which is what makes it so weird. By day I'm fine and by night I'm bouncing off the walls. Something's gotta give.

Re: What's up with you?
I've slept pretty well the last two nights only because of Lortab (confession: not my prescription). There's something wrong with my right shoulder, it's causing me a lot of "discomfort". Tomorrow, I will try to see my physician about it, my chiropractor is useless for this one.

Re: What's up with you?
I'm sleeping like crap at the moment because all the shoveling, plus some shelving work at the library, brought back a problem I struggled with last fall. I wake up at night, often several times, with severe pain in my right tricep and numbness and pain in my right wrist. This time I've found that if I flop over and sleep backwards on my bed, without a pillow, the pain will reduce. However, if I do that, my lower back starts to hurt in a way it doesn't in my normal sleeping position.
So I've spent the last few nights going back and forth between the two, changing whenever the new pain gets too much. I even took ibuprofen at 5:00am this morning when I normally never take it without food in my stomach. If this hangs on for months like last time I'm going to be a very unhappy bunny.

Re: What's up with you?
I have a shoulder problem, lots of pain at times. There are bone spurs growing on the collar bone that are irritating the rotator cuff. It may require surgery. I may have it on both sides, but my right should is worse, probably because I use it more.
