Celsius himself said that the scale should be called 'centigrade', which is Latin for one hundred steps, but after he died, other scientists reversed his scale (so that an increasing temperature actually resulted in a rising number!) and started using his name to refer to it. I accidentally went "sledding" last night. I thought the driveway was ice-free, but only half of it was. I slipped and fell at the top of the driveway, since I was surrounded by ice on an decline, I decided the safest way to handle it was to slide down until I hit the not-icy part.

I was not injured, but the dogs were confused.

The Seattle area is only supposed to be 20% coverage, and it's unlikely to be clear skies.

I'll only see about 35% coverage, but at least it's nice and clear out. A lot of central texas will get the totality, and then places north and east of there.

My team has an office in Plano, TX, and a few teammates traveled to there to see it. It didn't even occur to me to do that until I saw them dialed in to the morning meeting from the wrong office. The weather forecast for there was not great, which would have given me major anxiety if I had traveled, but it looks like they have sunny skies now. So fuckin jealous.

Yeah, jealous. After the last eclipse I planned to be in Dallas for this one. But life circumstances has rendered that impossible.
