We got completely pummeled last night by snow/rain/ice. My niece had come over for dinner and had to spend the night. The weather report literally said "treacherous and near impossible travel conditions", so we thought it best. It's in the low 40s today and everything is melting. Strange days indeed.

It snowed last night, and the weather site predicts snow for five of the next seven days.

I am going into hibernation, I think.

It's +28°C. Mostly sunny, lots of fluffy white clouds processing past. A bit of breeze from time to time. Not bad really.

It hailed here three times yesterday. Hail isn't totally unheard of around here, but it's not terribly common. It came without lightning or thunder or any other interesting weather. Just hailed, three times.

We are having a quite decent hailstorm & thunderstorm.

The balcony door was open because it's 26° ... until (a) it got really loud and (b) I noticed hailstones bouncing 2m+ into the flat.

It has been cool and rainy for about a week here, but now add 'smoky' due to Canadian wildfires north of us. I read yesterday that Chicago has the worst air quality in the world at the moment as a result of the smoke. At least I think that's what it said, don't hold me to it.

Our air quality hasn't been great either. It wasn't hazy yesterday like it's been, but it smelled like something was burning.

Well, it's been gloriously Spring-like here. We just had our first day of +90 f since back in September. so, Summer is coming. But first, more rain.

yup. More Rain.

We had a beak in the rain the other day.
We had Hail, and Tornado warnings at 2 in the frickin AM .

Woke up to hail smashing the roof and shit.
Then Tornado warnings.
Watched the tornado on radar , coming right for us.
We debated going down into the shelter, and decided, Fuck it. If we're gonna die we're going out warm and dry.

The Tornado fizzled just before it hit the town line.

It's been wet as hell here this Spring/early Summer. We had a gully-washer of epic proportions last night that stopped about an hour before the city's big fireworks display. The sanctioned display went forward, as did the non-sanctioned displays put on by various and sundry knuckleheads in the neighborhood. Fortunately enough, everything was so sopping wet that there was virtually no chance of said knuckleheads setting the city on fire.

Our little town out on the plains holds a remarkable fireworks display, and it is no more than a hundred yards from our place.
The Rain showed up just before the finale, and sent everyone running for cover.
It was what is referred to as a "Gully Washer." Our driveway was a pond.
The rain paused at about 11, and they quickly fired off the final series of rockets and shit, and then sent everybody home. The Rain came back and poured all night.

We are breaking a 140 year record for precipitation.

It was too early in the morning for me to be sweating at the bus stop this morning, and yet I was. The temps feel mid but it is uggy and humid and it is supposed to thunderstorm later today.

I don't know if this is normal for the bay area, but growing up in southern cailfornia, heat plus rain was not a thing. I had never even heard of summer storms until I went to disneyworld at age 14.

Well,..., the upside is, we don't have any heavy snow in the weekly forecast.

It rained in probably the best way yesterday. It started by a light, misty drizzle and then fully rained later. By the time the heavier rains came, the ground was softened by the light rain, so it was able to absorb the water. No flooding.

We've had T'storms come through nearly every evening since Summer started.
It's not TOO bad, though as our daily highs have been in the upper 80s and low 90s this year, as opposed to around 100-110 last summer.

Though, we topped the average annual precipitation back in June. They're already suggesting that this coming Winter might have a lot more snow than last (Which also topped the record for the last 20 years.) Fuck that, We're moving South this Winter.
