I told the guys (there's only three women here including me and I'm 99.99999% they didn't do it) that they're lucky I took my meds today.

They think I jest.

A couple of them wouldn't know but how soon the rest forget. There was a time when that would have set me off for at least a full day.

As it stands though, I simply taped my candbar up and put a sticky note on it that reads, "Unless your name is Shelli, do NOT eat this."

Then, one of the guys said that he's going to take my note and stick it on his belt.

At some point yesterday, someone came over to the vacant house next door and turned on this insane fucking floodlight that lights up their backyard like it's the middle of the fucking day, and it was on all goddamned night, shining right into our bedroom window. I was up about every 45 minutes, which I know cause I'd look at the clock and go, OMG. But even worse, IT KEPT MATURIN UP TOO. And seriously! That guy sleeps like a fucking sociopath!

So anyways, I don't know who turned the fucking light on. It must have either been the owner's brother who lives somewhere nearby, or the realtor. But seeing as how I don't know how to get in touch with the brother, I'm gonna call the realtor and tell him to come a) turn off that light, and b) get a less insane light so that it never happens again, even by accident.

Let's just put it this way, Malloch was able to make it home today but our truck was not. It's stuck in a snow drift down the road. Ironically, with our snow plow attached as well. Can't get it towed until they plow the road sometime tommorrow. Definitely won't be making it in on time to work if at all.

Old people! Don't rush yourself unnecessarily at the supermarket checkout - it might cause you to have a stroke or something. Don't worry about the long queue of disgruntled-looking people behind you; take your time and give them the valuable lesson of patience.

Make sure that the checkout person has scanned all your tins of cat food, bourbon cream biscuits and spaghetti hoops. Wait while she packs them all in bags for you. While this is going on, don't do anything! Don't even think about getting your purse out yet - this isn't a race after all.

When the checkout person announces the total (which is clearly shown anyway on a large digital display right in front of you) ignore her for the first couple of repetitions. Then look at her like a startled rabbit and say, "Are you sure deary? That seems like an awful lot."

After she tells you that it's right and shows you the itemised printout, grumble a bit about 'the price of things these days' and 'what things are coming to', and only then begin to look for your purse.

Look through several pockets and in your bags. It will help sooth the queue behind if you make reassuring comments such as, "I know it's in here somewhere!" Eventually find it and stun the onlookers by taking out a plastic card to pay with - they were all expecting you to pay with cash!

Then of course you need to change your glasses so you can read the tiny display (only about four inches high) on the gadget where you type in your PIN. And then, of course, you can't be expected to remember your PIN, so you have to look for the piece of paper where you wrote it down.

And only after you've entered the pin (slowly and surely, as though you are carrying out delicate repair work on a priceless antique) should you tell the checkout person that you want some 'cash back' so that you have to take the card out and then put it back in and enter your PIN over again.

Shopping isn't like it was in the good old days when you could have a nice chat with the store keeper, but by using these simple techniques you can still make it a memorable and enjoyable occasion every time.

So, here's something. If I graciously volunteer to pick up a till shift SPECIFICALLY so that the person coming into my old job has some more time with the person who is going to be training her, maybe the fucker who is going to be training her could take that hour I have given up and use it to train her - not fucking take lunch. Fucking four weeks in a fucking row. And those are only the weeks I could look up. There were at least two others.

At first I thought it was just my perception - but today, the last day of this offer, was a day on which people Got Sick and so I picked up another hour, bringing my total to FOUR - which leaves about 3 to do what I actually have to do. But not three all at once, three broken up into two patches, into which I have to also squish a lunch. Nice. I could have used the fucking hour YOU fucking went to lunch to fucking DO something.

YES I told a manager- YES I DID - not asking that anything be DONE about it except to take fucking note that I will not be making fucking offers any more and here is fucking why. I tried to be fucking helpful - in the midst of the fucking New FUCKED UP TO THIS DAY computer system and on days that I actually have a Little Extra to do to begin with. Fucking no fucking more.
