Technically, City of doesn't do this either. The unofficial handbook to the virtue universe is entirely player driven and funded. Developers and or other NCSoft employees may be aware of its existence but have no official stand on the contents therein. City of is, however, on record stating they are trying to implement a City Vault where player and character information can be viewed, in a similar vein as a World of Warcraft ... thing. (I don't know what it's called.)
SusieBot has never failed to entertain me. Sadly, he is off and on anymore, especially now with the demands of a newborn. There are a great number of creative folks on Virtue alone nevermind other servers. Despite the volumes of interesting, quirky, funny, well thought out and enacted characters, themes and concepts my eternal favorite will always be Susie-Bot itself.
Took my camera with me and followed some of the Zodiac Guardsmen in and around Paragon and the Rogue Isles. Was lucky enough to this series of pics of Lei Sheng Yang (The Thunder Ram) in action against some hapless Marconi scum:
The Legendary Ti Gou was kind enough to let me take some snapshots of one of daily training lessons in the fine art of kung-fu. Here are some of his patented moves.
That wiki is awesome. I especially like the last section of the Susie-Bot entry;
Quote:
Susie-Bot: The End
There was once a discussion, perhaps inspired by Marvel's "The End" series of comics, of what "the end" would be for your hero. After some thought, I arrived at what I think was a very honest end to Susie-Bot's story. I was so struck by the question that it has colored all of my ideas about Susie-Bot since.
Susie built Susie-Bot when she was eight years old. One day, she is going to grow up, and no 16-year old girl is going to spend her evenings driving a giant pink robot around. Out of a feeling of social responsibility, Susie will one day develop an AI for Susie-Bot. It won't be much, but it will allow the robot to learn, and the core systems will allow him to fight crime and help people for several years.
Eventually, though, Susie-Bot will become very lonely, and a bit disillusioned by his inability to make a dent in Paragon City's criminal underworld. After a brief goodbye to Susie, Susie-Bot will travel to Africa, where he will spend several years building houses and helping people, until he fades from notice. Without mechanical service, it is unlikely that the robot would last forever.
Perhaps ten or fifteen years later, a Peace Corps group will arrive in a village, where several well-constructed houses still stand. In the center of the village will be a fountain, constructed out of scrap metal, and at its center will be the remains of a giant pink robot, rusting, his green eyes gone dim many years past.
So, question, can you really create a character that's actually two characters, or is the in-game Susie-Bot just the robot and the player RP's being controlled by a little girl?

I can't put my finger on it but I like your aesthetic sensibility designing the Guardsmen!
Thanks, BrotherMan! I really do appreciate the compliment. Other than the kung-fu robes for the Loyal Guardsmen, I didn't really stick to a theme. But, something works for them, I hope I can repeat it for my next set of characters.
I've updated all of my character pages on VV with pics. Haven't completed their bios yet, but if you want to see what the rest of the Zodiac Guardsmen look like, go have a gander.
Damn it. This is very much making me want to start playing again.
Do it! Do it! Step away from the sword and sorcery and get with the modern mythology...comic books!
And drag some of those WAR and WoW addled bozos with you.
Yes, Virtue server. Though I've got a ideas for at least three other 12-character teams of Zodiac Guardsmen, so I can certainly whip 'em up on any given server.
As I understand it, NCSoft won't delete your characters, though you may lose their name. So, if were to return to the game, you can always pick up from where you left off.

Oh I played CoH/CoV already and did enjoy it. Still have my disks around somewhere.
I had a theme going on with my characters too, started with CoH.
Most of my characters were the highlords from the RPG, Torg.
There was:
The Cyberpope, Jean Malreaux I. Medieval theocracy meets cyberpunk. Radiation/Energy Defender. Doctor Mobius, a resurrected Egyptian Pharaoh in a 1930's pulp setting with Egyptian overtones. Gravity/Kinetics Controller (CoH) and Thugs/Dark Mastermind (Cov) The Gaunt Man, Lord Byron Salisbury. Highlord of a Victorian age H.P. Lovecraft inspired realm. Necromancy/Poison Mastermind (CoV only)

I've got a female character, a blonde dressed up as a bunny. She's not dressed provocatively (pervs), but she is kinda cute.
She also has a wicked compound bow with a pink laser sight.
Well, finally got around to getting pics of The Ghost Rabbit. Decided to ditch the "Trick Arrow" powerset and re-roll the character. Just didn't like the way the trick arrows worked with her character theme. And the animation for initializing the power just took too damned long.
She's still a Technology Controller but now with Illusion/Radiation Emission. Working on her bio, but her Patron Animal powers is what gives her Illusion and her high-tech suit which gives her Radiation Emission.
And you wanna talk about obsessive, Sock? In the Vietnamese calendar, the Cat takes the place of the Rabbit. So, I designed the Ghost Rabbit to have a Cat sitting on her shoulder. It's that little orange thing, can't see it to well in these pics.

The policy change affects all accounts that have been inactive for over 90 days. This only applied to accounts that were disabled in some way, such as payment expiration or account suspensions. Accounts that are still being paid for, but simply have not been used for 90 days, are not affected.
Any character on such an account less than a certain level has its name moved over to "unreserved" status, which allows any new character on the server to be created with that name. In the event this happens, the original character under the name will be prompted to choose a new name upon login. In order to return a character's name to "reserved" status, the user must log the character in question into the game. As such, it is possible that a player can be actively using an account with characters whose names are still set to "unreserved" status.
When "unreserved" status is assigned to a name, the following changes are applied to the affected character:
A new character name needs to be chosen (if existing name has been taken)
The character's description and battle cry will be cleared
The character's Friends list will be cleared
All Mail received will be deleted
The character is removed from their Super Group, if any
Characters affected will be missing from other peoples' friends lists
Any and all mail that other players have received from an affected character will have reverted to having been sent from "Unknown"
So, question, can you really create a character that's actually two characters, or is the in-game Susie-Bot just the robot and the player RP's being controlled by a little girl?
Sorry I missed this question. Sorry, it's just the giant pink robot with the voice of an 8 year old girl coming from the speaker(s). Nothing funnier than imagining this humongous pink robot stopping in the middle of arresting a thug with an "Uh oh! My mom is home!"
For more Susie-Bot funorama, read the reports found at the Crey Industries database.
Help me, I'm addicted to the character creation system. I'm now creating Zodiac Guardsmen from an Alternate Universe. In this one, the Guardsmen are more traditional super-heroes, very much Silver Age.
First up is the "Dog O'War". An Army veteran honorably discharged. Won't say why he was discharged other than "There certainly wasn't anything wrong with my body!" The Dog O'War went to Paragon City in hopes to recapture the adrenaline rush he relished in the service.
Next up is one I made with our dear livita in mind. I give you "The Crimson Bantam". This guy has no story, other than he tried to register as the Rhode Island Red, but that name had been long taken.
Here's another one and probably the last one for tonight.
Mr. Jingles started out life as a trained chimpanzee, dresses like a bellhop with an appreciation for organ grinder music. Mr. Jingles and his owner, Salvatore, were fixtures in Atlas Park. Everyday Salvatore would grind out a jolly tune while Mr. Jingles danced and banged in time on his cymbal.
All was well, until yet another evil scientist rampaged towards Atlas Plaza. This one had invented an Embiggening Ray and thought he could use it to conquer the world.
Instead, he was defeated by one of many heroes gathered in the park, but during the melee a stray shot struck Mr. Jingles square in the chest.
Mr. Jingles grew.
And grew.
And grew.
Now, Mr. Jingles is a hero in Paragon City. He still dances with Salvatore on Sundays, though. After all, Salvatore made him a new bigger uniform and gave him a cymbal he can still play.
I've gone and created another 12 characters on the Liberty server. And I love them. Maybe even more than my first creations.
But, it doesn't make sense to pay for the cost of adding these 12 characters to the Virtue server. At $20 for every five, it would cost me about $50. And what will I do if I wanted to create another team of 12 (I already have some thoughts on that one).
So, here's question for you gamers out there. What should I do? Here are some thoughts I had:
- Nothing wrong with keeping multiple characters across servers.
- Just what do I gain by having them all on one home server?
- All servers have some RPers, even if it's not Virtue
- Would it be right to create pages for non-Virtue characters on the VirtueVerse site?
By a weird and wonderful random happen-stance my two villains (Lord Byron and Doctor Mobius) just happen to be on Virtue. Didn't realize this until I logged in this morning.
