Fraternities and Sororities who have the means are buying houses off campus, so they can tell the administrations, "This is our private property. You have no authority here."

Is this happening?

I thought lots of them already did have off-campus houses.

There are whole neighborhoods in Boulder that are infested with fraternities, and at least some of them aren't affiliated with the school.
