A few days ago, the heater and the air conditioner were running in the same day. Now it's the heater only, but not very much.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
It was about 80F today. It is November 3, we have already gone below freezing this year and took down the cooler for the season, so I can't even cool the house. I can't sleep through the night when it's this hot out. It's fucking stupid and I hate it.
The highs are supposed to get back down into the 40s and 50s for the rest of the week. And they had better, OR ELSE.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
I suffered in the 74 degree heat of my bedroom the last two nights. This morning at 4:00 AM, I discovered the heat is on and the thermostat was set on 74. Crazy woman that lives in my house did that. Tonight, if it is one-one-billionth of a degree above 71 when I get ready to go to bed, I'm turning it down to 68 and threatening that creature with poor blood circulation with death by icicles. Either that or I'm moving out and get my own place where I get to control the temperature.
The above assumes I will live long enough to get home. I may die of sleep deprivation before the day is out.

While I was peeling away the different sections of yesterday's paper as gingerly as an archaeologist with a Dead Sea Scroll (more about that later), I saw an article in my daily fishwrap's local section about how San Diego had an average monthly temperature in October that was 7.7 degrees warmer than average. This was due to the oceans along our coast being five degrees warmer than the monthly average.
And now a musical evocation of why I had to treat yesterday's paper so delicately:
And today:
Rain pelted the windows and there were high winds during the day, turning into a thunderstorm late in the evening (and this was the day I had planned to go see The Martian at a drive-in theater!) and tapering off but still raining intermittently through the night. So the El Niño everyone predicted is now here, and if this is how it starts then we're in for one hell of a winter.
So the hottest October on record and what may shape up to be the wettest November: can we say climate change is occurring?

Oklahoma was 1.5şF higher than normal on average. My air-conditioning bill reflects it.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
It's gorgeous in Michigan right now. It's also setting record high temperatures. It's the pretty side of global warming. Hard to enjoy when you know the reason for it.

Snow here.
In London? In November?
Big fat flakes smacking the windows. And melting immediately. I didn't get out of bed.

Snowed a bit in Manchester last night. It's cold and a bit windy today. Not too far off of what it is at home.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
Curses, why aren't you at the match? I know your (evil) team was already playing when you posted.
First snow of the year and it's supposed to be a big one. Last estimate I saw for Flint was near 6 inches. It is coming down steadily. I am hoping that by the time I leave work everyone who can't drive in this will be home or already crashed.

It's been a really decent fall, mostly sticking close to or a bit above average.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
My tomatoes are goners, but we still haven't had even a mild frost.
We have had lots and lots and lots of rain. Not the usual endless 'dry rain', but bucketloads downpours with minor flooding everywhere kind of rain. A mite unusual for here.
Today is lovely; clear and sunny, but a bit cool.
I'd say our weather has gone bipolar.

Re: How's the fucking weather where you are?
Bipolar weather seems to be the norm for fall, I guess.
Gully washer on Wednesday, the day when I had the most running around to do, natch.
Gorgeous on Thursday, which I mostly slept through because Wednesday.
Gorgeous on Friday, enough so that I drove my convertible with the top down. I could have sworn there were no more days where I could do that. Happily wrong, I was.
Cold Friday night, cold this morning, warmed up slightly so it could rain, now cold again.
Cold may be here to stay for a while.
