Winner winner chicken dinner!  They were out RVing and fishing and got back last weekend. If I had known Columbus day was a bank holiday, I might have waited an extra day to start panicking.
These guys have never ever deposited our check late, except the one time when they lost it. They didn't notice they had received it and it got buried, so they called on like the 2nd of the month to ask if we'd sent it late. We had not, so I sent another one, and when they found the first one they were super apologetic.

If you want to be proactive about your rent check insecurity/anxiety, you could write the check, make a copy/scan of it for your records, and then mail it.
If they give you a call because it's late, you can tell them exactly when you wrote and mailed it, and can send them a copy as proof. It's no guarantee that everything will be OK. but you have evidence of you attempt to pay.

My computers are all better today after some time-consuming virus and malware hunting. At one point I had four of them in my office, all running some sort of scan.

I like being a lame duck. Exclamations of "so jealous!" and invitations to Happy Hour and celebratory lunches.
I do have to refrain from saying, "Boy, I won't miss that!" since these poor slobs will still be dealing with whatever it is.

There's a qdoba opening next week. I don't know what to think about it. It even has the nerve to open barely a block away from the Chipotle.
These are the things that concern me at this stage in life.
(I'm p much out of outrage and whatever thanks to the lame stream media and the shenanigans of all the politicians and business assholes. I have to focus on things I can handle.)

Day 1 of my unemployment. I'm not sure Saturday counts since I wouldn't be working today, anyway.
This is the first time in 33 years that I haven't held a job. I'm not sure what I'll do with myself.
Daughter advises, "Knit! Clean! Cook! Read! Watch all the TV!" Hmm.
I told everyone yesterday that this was my trial retirement balloon. Since I'm too young to actually retire--the only thing I am too young for--I'll use this time to figure out what I'll do to keep busy. Volunteering? Part-time work?
Today I'm trying to optimize an old computer. It's been unused since I bought a new one last year. Can't have too many computers running!

My sister did the trial retirement thing this year. Her doctor told her to take three months off work and she decided if she could stay off, she would. She's a stone workaholic, which is why her doctor had to tell her that in the first place. I'm surprised and pleased that she's done it. This weekend she is actually having a retirement party with her friends.
