Organizing a fundraiser?

I am asking for ideas for organizing a fundraiser maybe pot luck/spaghetti dinner style but don't know how to go about it. A friend of ours was recently diagnosed with ALS. I think my bil is getting the hall but i was more wondering about setting up raffles and or silent auction stuff? I don't know Bill and ChrisAnn's family well so I really don't know how to reach them. Bill is an employee of my husband and his brothers company. Any ideas would be helpful. tia

I don't know a lot about that. my wife and her sister got involved in activities like that, but now they are gone. Were I to try and plan such a thing, I would go the the people running that hall, and see who they may have worked with. Or talk to some of the other organizations, Like VFW, and American Legion, and other such meeting halls.
Of course any such organizers are likely to want a piece of the take for their efforts.

Good luck. I hope you are successful with that.

Re: Organizing a fundraiser?

Thank you Lars. I’m thinking a trivia night with food and cocktails. I’d love to have an emcee and do a raffle but I don’t know his family well enough to ask for donations for an auction. I’ll pass on the well wishes to him and his family. They need all the thoughts and prayers. He’s in his late fifties and he is deteriorating faster than what the doctors thought. It’s really rough. He works for my husband’s company so we are rallying behind him, but Joe and I have known them for years.
